What is different about a Deputywindows wrapped window?
- We do a DOUBLE BEND - NOT THE TYPICAL 90 degree
SINGLE BEND -( when
possible) following the contour of your existing exterior wood.
This increases the rigidity of the aluminum and gives your windows a
better appearance, brightening up curb appeal.
- We hide the majority of nails while doing the exterior wrapping. We
do not "face
nail" (nail
though the front of the aluminum) unless absolutely necessary. We cut
out nailing tabs for the bottom and side pieces that are covered by overlapping
the next piece of aluminum.
- We bend complicated pieces (for instance to cover an unsightly
steel header seen above brick openings) ALL IN ONE PIECE eliminating
the need for a seam that would need caulking. Most window contractors
would use two pieces as it is much faster.
- We use high quality
caulking at every seam between the new wrapping and your siding, stone,
brick or stucco. The smallest crack can
cause serious air leakage when it's cold out. Water and insects
can also find their way into your home through unsightly cracks.
Your windows will be water and air tight when we complete the job with
maximum protection from the elements. No more drafty windows that move
the curtains on a cold, windy day.
- When installing vinyl replacements we have a unique style. We
fill any gap under your new window (due to the angle of your existing
window sill) with WHITE low-pressure foam and then tuck the vinyl-clad
aluminum up under the screen track eliminating the need for a dirt collecting
horizontal bead of caulk all along the bottom of your new window.
